COMBINED MESS FOR BRITISH GURKHA

The project is the design of a Combined Mess for British Gurkha at Pokhara. This two storied building is designed to accommodate an Ante Room, a bar lounge, kitchen/dining room, TV/Games room, mess manager’s office and other utility functions on the ground floor. The first floor includes 14 bedrooms (each with an attached toilet), a common hall and a suite for senior officer. The structure is a framed structure with infill hollow block walls. Stone cladding is done on the exterior of the building to enhance the vernacular architecture of Pokhara. Steel Trusses are used as roof support system and Decra tiles are used as roofing material.
