BIO MEDICAL EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN (BMET) TRAINING CENTRE

The project is the training centre for bio medical equipment technician. The project is funded by Nick Simons Institute and is a gift to Government of Nepal. The project is located inside the complex of Department of Health in Teku.
The project is two and half storied structure covering almost 12,000 square feet of total built up area. The structure is a framed structure. The façade is mostly fair-faced brick with small portion of rendered surfaces primarily in columns and beam. Aluminum doors and windows have been used in the exterior of the building. The slope roof and skirt roofs are covered with upvc roofing tiles.
The ground floor of the building comprises of Pneumatic Lab, Heavy Equipment Store, Electromechanical Lab, X-ray Room, Compressor and Generator Room, Store and Toilet Block. The first floor consists of two Classrooms, Electronic Lab, Library, Rooms for Instructor and Training Chief and Toilet Block. The top floor comprises the separate Hostel Rooms for Ladies and Gents, TV Room cum Lounge, Store and Toilet Block.
As JSA was assigned to carry out the supervision and project management related works (the design was not done by JSA), efforts were made to meet the required specifications in material usage and workmanship. Quality Control and Quality Assurance was the main objective of the project.
