PATIENT NAVIGATION CENTRE

The project is the patient navigation centre for an NGO called Sundar Dhoka Saathi Sewa. The project is funded by Canada based organization called The Samaritan’s Purse.
The project is two storied structure and covers an approximately 8,500 square feet of built area. The building is planned with courtyard space on the southern side. The materials usage is mostly the combination of brick and stone walls on building facade with aluminum windows. Slope roof and skirt roofs with terracotta tiles have been used in the building to match the brick facade. Shera walls and Shera infill walls have been used in the partition and mineral boards have been used in the false ceiling.
One of the main features of the building is wheelchair accessible ramp that encircles the eastern block of the building. Since the residents of the building are mostly patients from rural areas, who reside in the building during their time in the valley for medical treatment, the building needed to be comfortable for wheelchair users.
The ground floor of the building has a multipurpose cum dining hall, kitchen, two private rooms, counseling room, physio room, reception, store and toilet block. Likewise the first floor has two family rooms, six private rooms, three rooms for offices and toilet block with a semi open space for informal gathering and a small verandah.
